King crab a la plancha and vegetables in basil oil. Enough said.
Asparagus kebab with quail egg "mirror", shimeji and Iberico ham. We sort of missed the ham (the matchsticks over the egg) because we were so engaged with the rest of the plate.
Sole and baby leeks, buttery shellfish sauce with lime and ginger. So flaky and buttery.
Wines for the meat courses
Lamb shoulder confit with eggplant compote and pomme puree (you cannot simply call these "mashed potatoes")
Foie gras stuffed quail with pomme puree. I don't even need to comment on the excellence of this.
Marscapone panna cotta with strawberries and balsamic ice cream. Delicious!
Blackberry compote with spice cake, rhubarb sorbet and candied rhubarb. Sounds simple, tasted divine.
Special, extra birthday dessert of Cinq Tartes. As I can recall: cinnamon, lemon, blueberry, raspberry and chocolate. Being a complete birthday brat, this was really special...and delicious. And as stuffed as we were, we managed to eat every bite.
